On Saturday, July 15th at Tweedy’s Roky Erickson Ice Cream Social (free admission) there will be live music celebrating Roky Erickson’s catalog of songs and a release of a very special vinyl record.
A 7” 45prm record of two songs Clementine Hall wrote for the 13th Floor Elevators: Splash One and I Have To Tell You. This project was produced by the Austin Museum of Popular Culture in conjunction with Steady Boy Records to raise funds in support of Clementine.
Now in her mid-80’s Clementine is experiencing financial troubles. Given the impact of her song writing and the importance her involvement was with the Elevators, AusPop turned to friends in the music community to create this record. Freddie Krc, Eve Monsees, Floyd Domino, Mike Buck, Howard Kalish and Layton DePenning donated their time to perform. Layton DePenning donated his services as engineer and the studio time.
The first opportunity to purchase this gem will be Saturday evening at this event. After that it will be available at Antones Records on Guadalupe Street.
Please join us on Saturday for some fun , music and ICE CREAM!!!
