Spencer Perskin moved to Austin after living in Brooklyn, New York and Memphis where he learned to deal with housing shortages, racial tension, and religious tension, and came here where he joined activist movements and the psychedelic drug scene. He’s played guitar with Shiva’s Headband, one of the first psychedelic bands in Austin for nearly 50 years. He believes that through understanding the language of music, we can speak the language of the cosmos and transcend the barriers that keep people from loving each other.
