Mandy Mercier started her career up north and followed the music on her violin to Austin.
She developed fybroid tumors when the Austin music community rallied to put on a benefit concert for her, but also brought her dinners and helped clean her house on a regular basis, a testament to her value to those in the Austin music scene. During her daily life in her alter ego as a legal secretary, Mandy won Female Vocalist of the Year by the Los Angeles chapter of the California Country Music Association In 2003.
