Elbow Grease: The Art of Jon Narum, Nic Russell, and Sam Yeates
SouthPop’s 2017-2018 exhibition season kicks off with Elbow Grease: The art of Jon Narum, Nicholas Russell, and Sam Yeates – paintings created by three artists who have been involved in the music scene since the early 1970s.
Narum, Yeats, and Russell have been mainstays of the Austin art and music scene for 40+ years. Their fine art and design will be on display in our gallery so you can see how their work embodies Austin, music, and how it’s both changed and stayed the same as the city and the scene have over the years.
Please join us Sunday afternoon, October 22 for a kick off celebration featuring beer, wine, live music by John Inmon, refreshments, and great company! And this time, thanks to the generosity of our latest sponsor Alamo Drafthouse Austin, we’ll be raffling off two free movie passes during the band’s break! Members are admitted free, for all others there is a $5 suggested donation at the door. There is NO PARKING AT SOUTHPOP or PLANET K during the event, so don’t even try it. Please park on Collier Street.
The exhibition will run through December 2 during our regular hours, Thursday – Sunday, 1-6pm, or by appointment. Admission to the museum is always free.
